The Romanesque Revival Tower on Fox Hill has the inscription: MEMORIAL TO THE VETERANS OF OUR WARS on the last step leading to the tower. The construction of the stone block tower began in 1937 and was dedicated on August 5, 1939. The tower was a project of the depression era Works Progress Administration (WPA) and the town of Vernon.
The 72' high octagonal tower is located at the west end of a 220' long stone walkway. At the base are Romanesque arches at each side. Higher up are windows framed by rounded arched. At the top of the tower are windows with rounded tops set within stone arches. The tower has a tapered octagonal roof topped by a finial.
