Smålandsstenar's church was designed by the architect Rudolf Hall from Gothenburg. But they still had to change a lot before Royal Majesty finally approved the drawings in 1961.
On August 29, 1964, the church in Smålandsstenar was consecrated by Bishop David Lindqvist.
The church is a nave church with slightly projecting choirs, the tower has a copper-clad spire.
The cemetery was already in place in 1956 but was expanded in 1996.
There are 1,948 graves in the cemetery.
