In 2000, Lindsborg decided to cast the traditional Dala shape in large fiberglass forms. Local people and folks with Lindsborg connections sponsor each Wild Dala. Each is unconventionally decorated by one on the towns many local artists.

The Carlson Family released this wild Dala to celebrate the lives of all Augustana trained Lutheran ministers, particularly those of the late Rev. Elmore Carlson and his brother, the late Rev. Perry Carlson of Lindsborg. Artist Lee Becker created the image of an old-fashioned minister.
