The Charles Dummett Gravesite Ghost - New Smyrna Beach, Florida, USA - Ghosts and Hauntings on Waymarking.com

The grave of Charles Dummett is located in the middle of Canova Drive in New Smyrna Beach. This out of place grave in the heart of a residential community has a sad history. Charles was only 15 years old when he died from an accidental gun shot while hunting. His father buried him where he fell. Over the years development came to the area and due to the red tape of moving the grave developers decided to simple keep the grave where it was and build a road around it.

Over the years there have been reports of ghost sightings of a young boy and a dog in the area of the grave. This could be the reason of the small dog that has been placed on top of his grave since it was not originally part of the grave.

Public access?: For night time viewing and observation it is suggested to park along South Peninsula Avenue or off of Flagler Avenue and walk to the gravesite.
