[FIN] Kaanaa paikkana:
Kaanaa on Raision lounaisosassa sijaitseva kaupunginosa.

Kaanaa Raamatussa:
Kanaaninmaa (myös Kanaanin maa, Kaanaanmaa, Kaanaa) on Raamatussa juutalaisten eli israelilaisten luvattu maa, joka nykyään tunnetaan Israelina. Kanaaninmaa mainitaan ensimmäisen kerran Abramin, myöhemmän Abrahamin, asuinpaikkana ensimmäisen Mooseksen kirjan jakeessa 12:7. Jumala lupasi maan Abrahamin jälkeläisille ikuiseksi omaisuudeksi.

[EN] Kaanaa as a place:
Kaanaa is a district located in the southwestern part of Raisio. It borders the Paikkari district in the north, Raisionlahti in the east and the Nuorikkala and Inkoinen districts in the middle of the bay and the city of Turku, and the city of Naantali in the west and south. The southernmost part of Kaanaa, limited to Viheräistenaukko, was joined to Naantali in 1957 in connection with the establishment of the Naantali oil refinery. In the part of town there is a daycare center, a preschool and Kaanaa school, which offers classes for grades 1–6. In addition, Kaanaa has a grill, barbershops and an accounting office. The Uikkupolku and Timalipolku nature trails also starts from Kaanaa.
The part of the city is mainly the former Lietsala, which was divided into small parts belonging to different villages at the end of the 18th century. The area's current name probably originates from the revival movements of the 19th century. According to another story, when the nuns brought their products from the Naantali monastery to Raisionlahti for loading into ships, they experienced the coastal landscapes and meadows like Canaan in contrast to the walls of the monastery.
