In 1967 a new library was built in Enfield which became the main library and the Pearl Street library built in 1914 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie became a branch library.
The mid-century modern style Enfield Public Library is a one story cross shaped structure with a hip roof and a glass, stone veneer and concrete front. The east and west wings are longer than the north and south wings. The entrance to the library is located at the junction of the north wing and the west wing. A sign on the west wind is insribed ENFIELD CENTRAL LIBRARY.
The library is located in a park-like setting and adjacent to the Enfield Rotary Club Accessible Children's Playground and Pavilion with which it shares a parking area.
