The Gateway to Cape Cod Lighthouses flank the Cranberry Highway in Wareham., MA. The two lighthouses are constructed with rubblestone walls and are capped by octagonal glass lanterns with walkways around the base of the lantern. The lanterns are topped by codfish weather vanes. Each lighthouse has a door with a rounded top at the base. The white picket gates were added to each lighthouse in 1953. These lighthouses were built in the 1930's as part of a trend to promote Cape Cod as a tourist destination for motorist.
