The German Monument Register (
visit link) reads:
"Two-story half-timbered building with massive street front under hipped roof. Entrance in the center (former driveway, sandstone walls partly exposed), modern driveway on the right. Vaulted cellar.
Built in the core around 1568/1570 (dendrochronological dating), later merged with the house Große Straße 6, rebuilt between 1900 and 1914.
Monument justification:
The Bürgerhaus at Schlachterstraße 13 has a historical significance due to its testimonial and visual value for the building history and as an exemplary burgher house of the Renaissance, one of the few that are preserved from the time shortly after the great Lingen city fire of 1548, therefore its preservation is in the public interest."
