Construction and line opening On February 22, 1862, the Wiesbaden railway company expanded the 56.6-kilometer right-hand Rhine line between Rüdesheim and Oberlahnstein. The initially single-track line from Wiesbaden to Niederlahnstein went into operation on June 3, 1864
