Koussevitzky Music Shed opened on August 4, 1938. The Shed was designed by American Institute of Architects gold medal recipient Eliel Saarinen. The open air, fan-shaped structure has 5,100 seats. It opens to a broad lawn from which concert goers can also listen to the music. The Koussevitzky Music Shed was renovated in 1959 with acoustic designs by BBN Technologies.
