[FR] L’abbaye Notre-Dame de Déols ou abbaye Notre-Dame de Bourg-Dieu est une ancienne abbaye bénédictine, dont il ne reste qu'un clocher, la quatrième travée du collatéral nord, la crypte, le mur sud de la nef et la porte de jonction avec le cloître, la prison des moines, la salle capitulaire, la salle carrée avec ses têtes murales, le réfectoire, la cuisine et les autres bâtiments conventuels.

Elle est fondée le 2 septembre 917 par Ebbes le Noble, seigneur de Déols, qui s'inspire de la fondation de l'abbaye de Cluny. L'abbaye, l'une des plus importantes de France, est placée sous l'autorité directe du pape. Son apothéose se situe aux XIIe, XIIIe et XIVe siècles.

Elle ne se relève pas des guerres de religion et les bâtiments de l'abbaye deviennent alors une carrière où le prince Henri II de Condé, et à sa suite, les autres administrations, puisent des matériaux de construction.

Le clocher, le mur sud de la nef et la partie encore visible du mur nord sont classés au titre des Monuments historiques en 1862. Des fouilles archéologiques effectuées de 1924 à 1926 ont permis pour la première fois de restituer le plan de la grande église abbatiale de Déols.
