Newfoundland Railway operated its Heart's Content Branch from 1915 through 1938. This bridge allowed traffic between Dildo and New Harbor [sic] stations to cross New Harbour Brook.
Many segments of the Old Track continue to host all-terrain vehicles. This bridge is important to that traffic. The bridge is also well used by pedestrians.
There is parking near the bridge (posted co-ordinates). From route 80 (Baccalieu Trail), take Thorne's Road. The southern portion of Thorne Road is on the railbed.
Bridge Type: Girder
Bridge Usage: Pedestrian
Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
