I was told this was once a weather vane on top of a building in downtown Boonville. The building was razed, and this piece was stored.
When the house on this corner of 7th & High was also razed, no one was planning to build on it so they placed this piece here. Good story if true, but I found nothing to substantiate the tale.
The flying little angel woes move with the wind, and at the base of the triangle are the appropriate letters in the right place S • N • E • W.
To make things brighter, it is lit at night, with a small light pointing up the shaft on each side.
