The Ben Lawers group of mountains are situated in south-west Perthshire between Loch Tay to the south and Glen Lyon to the north and are mostly on National Trust for Scotland land. They are named for Ben Lawers, the highest of the group at just under 4,000 feet. To the south-west is the summit of Being Ghlas (green-grey mountain) at 1103 metres or 3657 feet high, which is linked to Ben Lawers by a high col and is usually climbed in conjunction with it. The summit is marked by a small pile of stones close to the edge of the steep northern corrie.

STEEPNESS: A steep pull up the mountainside from the south, but benefiting from a high stating point from the car park.

TERRAIN: A good path constructed by the National Trust all the way to the summit, although rockier higher up.

ACCESSIBILITY: There is a National Trust car park on the minor route that runs through the mountains from the A827 at Loch Tay northwards to eventually cross into Glen Lyon. From here it is around two miles to the summit.

NAVIGATION: A signposted path to Ben Lawers leads from the car park through a nature area. After leaving this through a gate onto the open hillside, a right fork heads up Beinn Ghlas with the main path heading for Ben Lawers (the two paths meet again on the col between the two mountains). The path carries on up to the summit, becoming rockier as it climbs higher.

DANGER: Very steep ground to the north of the summit which continues to the left of the path on the way to Ben Lawers.

Altitude in Feet: 3657
