About the Rosengartenschlucht:
"The Schinderbach roars through the 2 km long Rosengarten Gorge - a spectacle that can be observed from the trail that leads through the gorge. The Rosengarten Gorge is highly valued as one of the most valuable biotopes in Tyrol. In addition, it represents a treasure trove, especially for geologists, since millions of years of geological history are reflected here.
The Rosengarten Gorge starts at the Johanneskirche in the city center of Imst. The gorge, which is bordered by a 100 m high rock face, narrows as it progresses and leads to the Blue Grotto, a small cave in which silver galena was searched for as early as Roman times. From the Blue Grotto you then get to Hoch-Imst and can either hike back to Imst via the Wetterkreuz or continue your tour with the Imster Bergbahnen and the Alpine Coaster Imst.
A hike through the natural monument takes about 3 hours - it is closed in winter for safety reasons. Since the gorge is not suitable for prams, child carriers can be borrowed from the information office for a deposit."
