The village of Longforgan is situated in south-east Perthshire in the Carse of Gowrie between the Scottish cities of Perth and Dundee, by-passed to the north by the A90 dual-carriageway. The war memorial in the village lies within a remembrance garden area on the corner of Main Street and Castle Road. It was unveiled by Mr J.G. Paterson of Castle Huntly on May 14th 1921 and is a tall stone pillar set on a square base above a larger octagonal base. It is inscribed on all four sides including the 56 names from WWI which includes those from the neighbouring parish of Invergowrie. The south-west face reads 'PRO REGE LEGE ET GREGE' and includes an intricate carving of a cross. The north-east side reads as follows:
