In the centre of Bukittinggi in southern Sumatra, yu can visit Fort de Kock and the Bukittinggi zoo. Fort De Kock is an old ruinous Dutch fort. The Bukittinggi zoo is small and the animal habitats are not up to European standard, but as it is the only zoo in this part of Sumatra, well worth a visit. Linking the two is the beatiful Limpapeh bridge, made in the local Minang-Kabau style. From the bridge you get a great view of the Bukittinggi centre to the south and of Fort de Kock and the zoo themselves.

From wikipedia:

Limpapeh bridge is a bridge in over Ahmad Yani street, Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. This bridge has a length of 90 metres (300 ft) and width of 3.8 metres (12 ft). Fort de Kock fortification is connected to the Bukittinggi zoo by this bridge. The bridge is constructed in the local Minang-Kabau style.
