The plaque says, "This pair of large stone lions made of granite from Mount Tai, which is considered the holiest mountain in China, has been placed in front of SDCHM and Extension. The stone lions are a gift to the city of San Diego from the Founding Executive Director of SDCHM, Dr. Alexander Chuang and Mrs. Agnes Chuang. The stone lions will serve as the Landmark of the Asian Pacific Historic District in the city.
