At the start of the garden path are two 30" by 15" by 42" terracotta sculptures of sphinxes. One sphinx represents Marie Antoinette, the other sphinx represents Marie Thérèse Louise of Savoy. The sphinxes are set on rectangular bases in a bed of English ivy. Both sphinxes are wearing caps strapped under their chins and low cut dresses. The body of the lions are draped.

The sphinxes were made in France and are copies of the originals located in the garden at Menars.
