This BINO is at the northeast end of Bearskin Neck where the rocky jetty heads east in Rockport, Massachusetts. Its vantage point presents a view across Rockport Harbor to Straitsmouth Island about 1.25 miles to the east and Sandy Bay and Andrews Point 1.75 miles to the north. Though it swivels 360 degrees, the unit is perched at the edge of a cliff protected by a picket fence, so orienting it to the west isn't easy or advisable!
Manufactured by the Tower Optical Co., Inc. of Norwalk, Connecticut, this chrome plated bronze casting Binocular Viewer mounted on a cast iron yoke, pedestal, base, and step-up costs 25 cents to operate (quarter coins only).
