FR Situé dans le Luberon, le village perché de Goult a conservé son église Saint-Sébastien dont les plus anciennes parties remontent au XIIe siècle.
Édifice globalement roman, élevé par Guillaume d’Agoult au XIIe siècle, l'église Saint-Sébastien jouxte les bâtiments de l’ancien prieuré et de la maison curiale.
Elle comporte une chapelle gothique, dédiée à Saint-Joseph, érigée sur le tombeau d’un seigneur de Goult et dite "des hommes".
Au fil des siècles, elle fut quelque peu modifiée par l'ajout d'un porche en façade, ce qui tranche avec le reste de l'édifice.
On noté :
  • Un portail latéral gothique avec un chapiteau à feuillage, des têtes soutenant la retombée de l'arc soulignant l'archivolte
  • Une façade occidentale avec Ouverture en ogive romane à colonnes torsadée et cannelée supportant des chapiteaux végétaux, une fenêtre géminée gothique à arcs trilobés et colonnette fasciculée centrale à chapiteau végétal
  • Une nef unique romane voûtée en berceau brisé
  • Chœur voûté en cul-de-four
EN Located in the Luberon, the hilltop village of Goult has retained its Saint-Sébastien church, the oldest parts of which date back to the 12th century.
A generally Romanesque building, erected by Guillaume d'Agoult in the 12th century, the Saint-Sébastien church adjoins the buildings of the former priory and the curial house.
It has a Gothic chapel, dedicated to Saint-Joseph, erected on the tomb of a lord of Goult and called "men".
Over the centuries, it was somewhat modified by the addition of a front porch, which contrasts with the rest of the building.
We notice :
  • A Gothic side portal with a capital with foliage, heads supporting the fall of the arch underlining the archivolt
  • A western facade with Romanesque pointed opening with twisted and fluted columns supporting plant capitals, a twin Gothic window with trefoil arches and central fasciculate column with plant capital
  • A single Romanesque nave with barrel vault
  • Vaulted choir in cul-de-four
