Long Description:

The village of Invergowrie lies on the Firth of Tay on the south-western edge of the city of Dundee, but within the county of Perthshire where it lies on the extreme south-eastern corner. The parish church lies in the centre of the village on the main street, but the prominent steeple to the west belongs to the Episcopal church of All Souls.

The Episcopalians of the area worshipped at a chapel in Lord Kinnaird's estate at Rossie to the west. In 1892 Lord Kinnaird's widow Lady Frances was the benefactor of a new church built in Invergowrie in an Early English Gothic style where Hippolyte Blanc designed a cruciform-style building in red sandstone, which opened in 1896. At its centre is a 140 foot tower and spire.

The two stage tower features louvred openings flanked by two blind panels in each face. The octagonal spire has four lucarnes and flying buttresses. The spire is hard to view from the north on Main Street and is best viewed from the south-east on Errol Road. It is also prominent from the countryside out to the west of the village.
