It is located between Jebel Ali Port and the area that houses Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and the American University in Dubai. It has an area of 1.56 km2. The first phase of this project has already been completed. Dubai Marina was inspired by the model designed by the successful Concord Pacific Place development that is along False Creek in Vancouver, CB, Canada.
The marina is completely man-made and has been developed by the real estate company Emaar Properties of the United Arab Emirates. The first part of Dubai Marina covers 25 acres, with buildings such as Dubai Marina Towers and 64 connected luxury villas. The second part consists of more than 200 high-rise buildings such as the Majara Towers and the Al Sahab twin towers. When it is finished, it will be the largest man-made marina in the world (the current largest marina is Marina del Rey in California, USA).
