This large Redwood Tree Growth Ring display is located at the Visitor Center, Humboldt Redwoods State Park on the Avenue of the Giants. This park preserves over 53,000 acres of forest containing some 17,000 acres of ancient redwoods.

The plaque attached to the Redwood Tree Growth Ring display states: "That this tree began growing near Jordan Creek at the north end of the "Avenue of the Giants". It was 839 years old when it fell in 1987.
