This former gas station, now home to
A Cut Above Polishing metal polishing shop, sits on the east side of TV Road/State Road S21-26 in Florence, South Carolina, .
The building is mainly clad in white painted brick with T1-11 style wood panel siding on the south end. A canopy extends out over a pair of parallel pads for the gas pumps at the center south part of the building. The pumps have been removed. The main entry door, flanked by large display windows, is at the east end of the canopy. All the trim, canopy support posts, and front faces of curbing are painted sky blue. "SELF" still reads proudly along the south side of the canopy support by the empty gas pump island closest to the building.
Two garage doors are on the northern end of the building's front elevation. On the south side and wrapping to the front (west) side of the building are large, hand painted (now fading) murals of gleaming semi-tractor trailers which promote the current business.
