The library is housed in the former Newbor Municipal Building. Built in 1850, it has served at various times as a school, courthouse, municipal hall and jail.
In 1998 the building was renovated and became a branch of the Rideau Lakes Public Library.
The facility is currently open 4 days a week, as it slowly emerges from COVID pandemic protocols.
