Cle Elum Serviceman's Memorial is at the grave of Douglas A. Munro, a World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He is the only Coast Guardsmen to receive the MOH award. It is located in Laurel Hill Memorial Cemetery.

"The Cle Elum Serviceman’s Memorial is the location and home of the grave of Coast Guard Signalman First Class Douglas Munro at the Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Cle Elum, Wash., May 14, 2018.
Munro was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his leadership and efforts to rescue several hundred Marines under attack by Japanese forces on the island of Guadalcanal in World War II.
