"At our Wentzville. MO location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D's Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D's Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D's was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time." ~ Captain D's

Original Occupant: Tommy D's Pizza
This resource is a one-story stucco and brick commercial building with a flat roof and a five bay facade. The main entrance is a pair of metal and glass doors located in the slightly projected vestibule in the northern bay that projects higher than the main roof and is faced with red brick, in contrast to the stucco walls and black brick ar the parapet (although it matches the red brick that forms the base of the main walls below the windows). The central bay contains an additional metal and glass door and the other bays on the facade have metal framed display windows.
"This property sits at the northeast corner of South Church Street and Wagner, on a hill with a steep slope above the roads. The west facing building sits toward the back of the property, with a large paved parking lot filling most of the property in front of the building, and a small paved drive around the rear." ~ Wentzville Historic Srvey PDF pages 148-151
