Pulpit in St Mary's church, Ottery St Mary.
Carved wooden pulpit, the work of a parishioner and carpenter William Culne, dated 1722. A wine-glass style design made in the tradition of late 17th century, with 4 panels showing the evangelists. When it was complete it had a canopy, surmounted by a gilt angel blowing a trumpet. The angel is now over the ancient astronomical clock.
