Par acte du 10 juillet 1476,
Pierre du Boschage, curé de Jouhet, fonde une chapelle dédiée à la Vierge, à
Sainte Catherine et à tous les saints. Cette chapelle, qui s’élevait dans le
cimetière aujourd’hui disparu, remplaçait peut-être une construction plus
ancienne. Les pierres tombales marquées d’une croix encore visibles près de
l’autel pourraient être des vestiges de cette construction primitive. La façade
est percée par une porte gothique dont l’arc est chargé d’une croix en relief.
Au-dessus, une niche est ménagée sous un arc en mitre. Elle contenait
probablement une statue. Une petite baie, en haut du pignon, donne sur les
combles. La chapelle possède un christ en bois en croix du 15ème qui, à la
suite de sa restauration, a été réinstallé le 11 décembre 2019.

By act of July 10, 1476, Pierre
du Boschage, parish priest of Jouhet, founded a chapel dedicated to the Virgin,
Saint Catherine and all the saints. This chapel, which stood in the cemetery
which has now disappeared, may have replaced an older construction. The
tombstones marked with a cross still visible near the altar could be vestiges
of this primitive construction. The facade is pierced by a Gothic door whose
arch is charged with a cross in relief. Above, a niche is made under a mitred
arch. It probably contained a statue.
A small bay at the top of the
gable overlooks the attic. The chapel has a wooden Christ on the cross from the
15th century which, following its restoration, was reinstalled on December 11,
2019
