"The Palmerswaard is a floodplain along the Lower Rhine near Rhenen, which borders the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The Palmerswaard forms an ecological link between the Blauwe Kamer and the floodplains at Elst and Amerongen.
The Palmerswaard is bordered in the south by the Nederrijn, in the north by the buildings of the Utrechtsestraatweg and in the east by the Veerweg. The transition between high and low is formed by a steep edge that is up to 10 meters high. At the foot of the steep edge, clean seepage water from the Heuvelrug comes to the surface. This seepage flow decreased due to the fall in the groundwater level on the Heuvelrug."
