This sundial is located on the west side of the National Academy of Sciences. The dial is just off 22nd St NW in Washington D.C. The dial was donated by the friends of George Donald Meid.
George Meid was the business manager for the National Academy of Sciences until 1971 when he retired after almost 29 years at the Academy. He passed away January 10th, 1978.
The sundial is black with gold colored roman numerals and a compass rose.
