Victoria Park, named after Queen Victoria, is an approximately 15 hectare parcel of parkland that includes both forested areas and landscaped grounds. The Park was established in 1873 and includes a number of historic features including the Prince Edward Battery and Magazine, as well as survey stones marking the meridian line.
Today, Victoria Park is one of Charlottetown's most beautiful and popular parks where visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including tennis courts, ball diamonds, a horseshoe pitch, a wading pool and swimming pool, grassy fields, wooded walking trails and a new accessible playground. The 1.4 km boardwalk hugs the waterfront and offers beautiful views of Charlottetown for the first third of its length.
Islanders flock to Victoria Park year-round. Despite its popularity, the park retains the pleasant sense of seclusion that comes with Island life.
