The beach can be accessed from the Saltwater National Park at Wallabi Point in the north, and from the Diamond Beach village in the south these coordinates.

"Diamond Beach is also known as Back Saltwater, or just Back Beach by the locals, and runs for 5.5 km to the south-southwest curving round to trend due south at the southern end." No lifeguards most of the time at this beach.

"The beach is ideal for fishing, surfing or just enjoying a long beach walk watching the dolphins frolic in the waves. For hiking enthusiasts there is a walking track, which takes you from the southern end of Diamond Beach onto the small but pretty Shelley Beach, on Red Head.

"It's dog-friendly and you can even ride horses along it."
