About the Deelen Airbase /Airport:
"Deelen Air Base is located just north of the city of Arnhem in the province of Gelderland. It is a former Dutch military auxiliary airfield that was completed just before the First World War. During the Second World War, the airfield was thoroughly renovated into Fliegerhorst for the Luftwaffe. The Fliegerhorst Deelen became the largest German airport in the Netherlands. After the liberation, Deelen became an air base of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. In 1995 the base was closed and redesignated as a Military Aerodrome (MLT). After the closure of Soesterberg Air Base, this was reversed and Deelen is now a Forward Operating Base (FOB) of the Defense Helicopter Command (DHC) without permanently stationed flying units."
