This shack was likely used at one time as part of logging or mining operations, though its purpose is now unknown.

It measures about 16 feet by 14 feet, and stands about 9 feet tall. The walls are made with large stacked wooden beams, and the roof is covered by a patchwork of plywood and some degraded tarp. Inside, there are two bunk beds, a table, and a simple wood stove.

Access is via the Chemainus Main logging road, and then up the Chemainus-263 spur. The shack is about 100 feet off of the spur. Based on aerial imagery, it appears that there was once a road that ran right to the north side of the shack, but that was decommissioned decades ago in favour of the newer Chemainus-263 spur farther to the south.
