The mosaic is set within the granite, circular in shape, and has written around the circumference.
The writing is the names of the "seven sisters" Greek Pleiads
The Pleiades, in Greek mythology, are the seven daughters of the Titan Atlas and the Oceanid Pleione: Maia, Electra, Taygete, Celaeno, Alcyone, Sterope, and Merope
the centre is depicting the stars
With Falmouth being a historic nautical port and the mosaic depicting the ancient mariner's star constellation.
