[ENG] The monument is located at Pilsudski Square. It consists of the only surviving part of the Saxon Palace that was located here before World War II. The Tomb is lit by an eternal flame.
The history of the Tomb starts in 1923. An unknown group placed a stone tablet commemorating all the unknown Polish soldiers who had fallen during wars. In 1925, the remains of an unknown soldier from the battlefield in Lwów were brought to Warsaw. The coffin was buried beneath the colonnade. Since then, an honor guard has continuously been held before the Tomb.
