"It is from the 19th century, in which the main portals of the temple were finished, and it was Cardinal Cienfuegos who promoted its execution. It was carried out between 1829 and 1833, largely under the direction of the architect of the Cathedral, Fernando de Rosales, and was completed due to the lack of sculptural ornamentation. For its ornamentation, he designed the relief of the Assumption for the tympanum and eighty sculptures of saints for the jambs. In 1882 Ricardo Bellver commissioned these sculptures, who finished them in 1885, although only 39 of the 80 projected were executed, all of them in artificial stone, like the relief of the Assumption."
