"St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD) is the largest ambulance district in Missouri, serving a population of more than 400,000 across all municipalities and unincorporated areas of St. Charles County.
"The District is committed to providing extraordinary mobile healthcare to our community, and works to develop and promote best practices to integrated community healthcare. In addition to emergency and non-emergency care and transport services, SCCAD offers numerous other services including critical care transport, mobile integrated health, and a variety of community safety programs.
"SCCAD’s Training Center offers EMT and Paramedic programs, and a full compliment of American Heart Association courses, among other offerings.
"Citizens of St. Charles County voted to approve the formation of St. Charles County Ambulance District on November 5, 1974 with a maximum authorized tax levy of $0.15 per $100 in assessed valuation. In 2014, county residents approved Proposition E, an 11-cent tax levy increase.
