C’est l’architecte de la Cour: Jean—Baptiste Franque, qui dessine les plans d’une nouvelle hôtellerie en remplacement d’un édifice vétuste qui servait au logement des pèlerins de marque. Les travaux de construction débutent en 1750. Le Couvent reçoit beaucoup de pèlerins ; de nombreux princes des royaumes d’Europe et de personnalités de l’Eglise qui viennent vénérer les reliques de Sainte Marie—Madeleine seront logés dans ce palais neuf.
Vendue comme bien national à la Révolution l’hôtellerie est achetée parla Communauté pour en faire l’Hôtel de Ville.

It was the Court architect: Jean-Baptiste Franque, who drew up the plans for a new hostelry to replace a dilapidated building which was used to house distinguished pilgrims. Construction work began in 1750. The Convent received many pilgrims; many princes of the kingdoms of Europe and personalities of the Church who come to venerate the relics of Saint Mary Magdalene will be housed in this new palace.
Sold as national property during the Revolution, the hostelry was bought by the Community to make it the Town Hall.
