[DE]Im Zuge der Sanierung des Neumarkter Residenzplatzes gestaltete Lothar Fischer 2001/02 die Brunnenanlage „Drei Reiter“, die sowohl inhaltlich als auch städtebaulich auf das historische Ensemble Bezug nimmt.

Er gewichtete damit den Platz. Inmitten des ehemaligen Pfalzgräflichen Gevierts von Schloss, Residenz, Reitstadel und Hofkirche blickt man so auf die Geschichte Neumarkts zurück, denn Ritter und Pferd waren über viele Jahrhunderte Normalität für die Neumarkter Bürgerschaft. Bis 1909 stand sogar eine Bayerische Chevauleger-Eskadron in der Stadt.
