Long Description:

The village and parish of Kenmore is situated at the eastern end of Loch Tay in highland Perthshire in Scotland. The A827 road passes through the village the war memorial can be found by the roadside at the entrance to the Kirk of Kenmore near the village centre.

The memorial was erected by public subscription and unveiled on May 22nd 1921. It takes the form of a Celtic wheel cross on a tapering plinth set on a square two-stepped base. There are crossed swords and a flag in bass relief along with 1914-1919 inscribed at the base. The inscription on the plinth reads:

'TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND TO THE SACRED MEMORY OF THE MEN OF KENMORE PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR'

Underneath the names are the further inscriptions:


'THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE'
'AIRSON DIA OS DUTHAICH'
