An establishment was built on this site in 1860 called the Kangaroo Inn. The latter is still in existence at the rear of the hotel & now serves as a restaurant. The hotel is known to locals as the Bottom Pub. The other hotel is known as the Top Pub.
The present owners have refurbished the hotel & it offers a tapas bar & coffee shop beside the footpath, a separate outside area for smokers, gaming room, TAB & multiple taps of local & imported beers. An open fire keeps customers warm on cold winter nights.
