"The remains of the castle complex that still exist today form a rectangle with a side length of about 40 × 20 meters. This is bordered to the north by a moat, which separates the castle square from the rest of the ridge. The enclosing walls of the west, south and east sides are still preserved on several levels. The masonry, except for the thicker southern wall, has an average thickness of 2 meters. The perimeter walls have several window openings and embrasures as well as a conspicuously large arched opening in the south wall. There are still beam holes and remains of the original plaster. To the north, a solitary masonry pillar still rises several meters high, which is considered to be the remnant of an interior wall.[3]
The most prominent component of the ruins is the keep, still towering about 24 meters high, at the southwest corner of the complex. Its diameter is about 5.5 meters with a wall thickness of 1.5 meters. It has the unusual ground plan of an approximated semicircle, with the side facing the interior of the castle complex forming a straight line. The adjoining southern wall has a thickness of 3 meters, making it the most powerful of the castle."
