Im Jahre 1903 wurde die Immanuelkirche nach Plänen des Architekten Aage von Kauffmann im Stil der Neugotik errichtet. Sie wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg bei den Luftangriffen auf Frankfurt am Main so stark zerstört, daß nur noch der Glockenturm und die Umfassungsmauern erhalten waren.
Anfang der 1950er Jahre wurde der Architekt Karl Wimmenauer mit der Planung einer Kirche an gleicher Stelle beauftragt. Der Entwurf sah einen Neubau vor, der die Kriegsruine einbezog. Standort und äußere Abmessungen der Vorgängerkirche wurden für den Neubau übernommen und die unzerstörten Gebäudeteile integriert. Am 3. Oktober 1954 wurde der Grundstein gelegt, am 11. März 1956 die Kirche, die nun Epiphaniaskirche heißt, ihrer Bestimmung übergeben.
In 1903, the Immanuelkirche was built in the neo-Gothic style according to plans by the architect Aage von Kauffmann. It was so badly destroyed during the air raids on Frankfurt am Main in the Second World War that only the bell tower and the surrounding walls remained.
In the early 1950s, the architect Karl Wimmenauer was commissioned to plan a church on the same site. The design envisaged a new building that incorporated the war ruins. The location and external dimensions of the predecessor church were adopted for the new building and the undestroyed parts of the building were integrated. The foundation stone was laid on 3 October 1954, and the church, now called Epiphaniaskirche, was handed over for its intended purpose on 11 March 1956
