The site where the current post office is located was once the site of the first inn and tavern in the Village of Richmondville, built in 1795.
The post office was built in 1825, and the first Postmaster was J. Warner. It is still in use, and serves the Village of Richmondville (population about 900) and surrounding areas. It hasn't changed much since I was a child growing up in Richmondville in the 1950's and 60's!
