The Devon Box Wagon is painted blue with red wheels. It has a plaque which reads:

'Devon Box Wagon 1875c.
This kind of wagon could carry 3-4 tons with 2-3 horses. Leading horses would pull in tandem with trace chains. 1 horse for hay work. From Lemprice Farm, Yettington.'

The hay would have been held by the rack on the rear and the display uses hay stacks as examples.

It is located on the ground floor along with the other wheelwright cart which is also painted blue and red. This one has a shallow cart left in natural wood though and longer fittings for horses.

From the 1st November our hours change to 11am – 3pm Monday -Friday, 11am – 1pm Saturdays.
