Macaws are included in the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve.
From the sign at the macaws cage. "Macaws are found in Central and South America. Their unusual habitat is the rainforest. Some species prefer savanna-like habitats. They can live up to 100 years, but they average 50-65 years. Most macaws are endangered in the wild. Five species are already extinct.
