There are a few web-spidered directory listings for the church, but while they have an active Facebook page (see below), there's not much in the way of history. They are mentioned in the Handbook of Texas Online, though, as a continuous place of worship for over a hundred years. The sanctuary looks to have been constructed some time between 1900 and 1940, and there is an old tabernacle on the property, in fairly good condition. Osage itself dates to 1860, and while there was a post office here until 1965, fire destroyed the town's businesses in 1936, ultimately transforming Osage into a rural community. There may be thirty to fifty people living here.
